Why Are Liberals Silent on Gun Control in Wake of Assassination Attempts?

On July 13, 2024, Thomas Matthew Crooks climbed to the top of a building outside a Trump rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, aimed down his rifle, and fired off multiple shots at President Trump. One of the bullets hit his right ear, missing his head by mere centimeters. With blood streaming down his face, Trump bravely turned to the crowd, raised a fist in the air, and yelled "fight, fight, fight!" before being escorted to safety. Crooks was gunned down seconds later.
Two months later, while playing golf at Trump International Golf Club, Donald Trump was nearly assassinated a second time when a disturbed individual by the name of Ryan Wesley Routh, a long-time democrat supporter, hid inside some shrubbery along the course with an AK-47. Thankfully, Secret Service spotted the man's rifle sticking out of the bushes and opened fire. Being the coward that he is, Routh tried to flee, but was ultimately taken into custody.
If you're like me, then you might have noticed something strange about how the liberals have responded to these assassination attempts. Something was... missing.
Where were all the calls for gun control?
Where were Joe Biden and Kamala Harris with their rants about enacting "common sense reforms"? Where was the liberal media trying to pull at our heart strings, begging congress to "just do something" in the name of saving innocent lives? It seems like every time there's a gun-related tragedy in this country, the liberals are quick to exploit it, pulling out the same old talking points... but not this time. Not when Donald Trump was the one on the receiving end of the bullet. And so I ask you - why is that?
The reason, as I pointed out on radio last week, is actually quite sick. The left knows that to talk about gun control in the wake of these attempt's on Donald Trump's life would be to, by extension, portray Donald Trump as a victim. They fear that it would cause Americans to feel sympathy for Trump, which could result in more votes and possibly even a republican victory come November. And therefore, they remain silent. They stray away from their usual calls for gun control because, in an ironic twist, here, it wouldn't align with their agenda.
To the left, Trump is, and always has to be, the enemy.
